About this Event

A Practical Seminar with Shaykh Asim Khan Salah is at the heart of a Muslim’s daily life, yet many of us may be making mistakes without realising it. Join Shaykh Asim Khan for a practical and engaging seminar exploring some of the most common mistakes made during Salah. Throughout the programme, Shaykh Asim will guide attendees through the prayer step by step, demonstrating how to correct errors that may invalidate the Salah, weaken its quality, or affect focus and concentration. This seminar will help you better understand the correct way to pray, improve your khushu‘, and feel more confident that your Salah is being performed correctly.

What Will Be Covered? Common mistakes made during Salah Mistakes that may invalidate the prayer Correcting posture, movements and recitation Improving focus, concentration and khushu‘ Practical demonstrations and guidance An opportunity to ask questions

Whether you are newly practising, have been praying for many years, or would simply like to improve the quality of your Salah, this seminar is for you. The programme will be held at local mosques and is completely free to attend. Spaces are available for men, women and children. Please register in advance to secure your place.

The Teacher Shaykh Asim Khan is a Hafiz of Qur’an & an Imam. He is also a course instructor for the Sabeel institute, a published author of 5 book covering Salah, Tafsir and Seerah, and a social media campaigner for good causes. Ustadh Asim Khan also presents regular Islamic shows on satellite channels. From an early age, he excelled in academic studies and gained a Master’s in Pharmacy from University College London as well as studying Arabic and Qur’anic sciences in Cairo, Egypt. Shaykh Asim Khan is well known for being able to break down and explain complex matters in an easy-to-understand, digestible format. Fundraising: during the programme there will be a short fundraising appeal - this will last approximately 10 minutes.

Disclaimer Attending With Children: Due to the nature of the seminar, it can be quite frustrating for young children, therefore we advise that you do not attend with children or babies younger than the age of 7 years old. If you do attend with young children of any age, please keep them with you at all times. If your child becomes restless and makes a lot of noise which disturbs other attendees or the teacher, we will regretably have to ask you to leave. Seating Arrangments: Seating will be segregated. Seating is on a first come first served basis. As this is a free event, we will need to register more attendees than we can acutally seat in the venue. The reason we need to do this is because at least 2/3 of the people who register to attend free Islamic seminars and events usually drop out and don't attend on the day. If you want to ensure you have a seat at the event, we strongly advise that you turn up on time. Once the venue has reached maximum capacity we will not be able to let you enter, even if you have family or friends inside already. Food And Refreshments: You are welcome to bring your own food, snacks and drink with you, we will also try to have some available for purchase but can not gaurantee this. Salah Arrangments: Women can pray in the Maryam Centre and men can pray in the main hall of the East London Mosque. Please do not pray inside the seminar hall. Fundraising: This event is being organised by the charity ILM (International Learning Movement) in order to support the work they do around the world there will be a short fundraising segment. EVENT RULES: 1. Strictly no video or audio recording is allowed. 2. Please try to wear a mask to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. 3. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, please do not attend this event. 4. Seating will be segregated and is on a first-come, first-served basis. 5. Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or evict any individual or group at any time at the organisers discretion.
