Help a Child to Read
Millions of children have never held a book of their own. Poverty pushes them into work, not school - and without reading, every other door stays shut for life.
£3 a month is less than a coffee, but pooled with hundreds of other donors it puts a teacher in front of a class, books in small hands, and a child on a path out of poverty.
A Simple, Powerful Idea
On its own, £3 doesn't build a school. Together, it does. We combine your monthly gift with thousands of others to fund whole classrooms - teachers' salaries, learning materials, uniforms and a safe place to sit and learn.
You don't need to give a fortune. You just need to keep giving.
Support a Slum School
ILM's slum schools reach the children the system forgets - those in child labour, on the streets, or kept at home because a school simply isn't there.
Your support keeps the doors open: staff paid, books stocked, meals served, attendance rising.
Help Build an Academy
Where there is no school at all, we build one. An ILM academy is a permanent place of learning that serves a community for generations - long after your donation is made.
Sadaqah Jariyah - Giving That Doesn't Stop
The Prophet ﷺ said: "When a person dies, their deeds end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them." (Muslim)
Educating a child is all three at once. Every book that child reads, and every person they go on to teach, is written in your scale of good.
Where Your Money Goes
87p of every £1 ILM spends goes directly to charitable work. Your gift funds teaching, learning materials, school meals and school buildings around the world.
Give today and help a child learn to read.
Please Note
All donations made to the education fund will be used to support educational initiatives. This could slightly differ from exactly what you have donated towards, but will overall be used to meet the needs of students and educators.
